I am writing this letter in support of Alex Vispoli’s re-election to the Board of Selectman. I have known Alex for more than 15 years and worked collaboratively with him for six years while I was on the School Committee. Alex brings a critical financial perspective to the governing process while also working to move along important local projects including the new town yard, the Ballardvale fire station, the reorganization and modernization of the Town’s technology capabilities, and important school initiatives.
During this past year, Alex as chairman has brought critical leadership to this board that has had three new members elected during the past two elections. A fourth new member will be elected in this cycle.
Alex’s membership on the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Municipal Association and Executive Board of the Massachusetts Selectman’s Association contributes to a critical statewide perspective when assisting the board in considering state policies and funding that impacts our local community.
With 15 years of experience on the Board of Selectman, Alex maintains a high level of enthusiasm and energy for the role and commitment to the community. This past year, the Board of Selectman, with the Town Manager are making importing strides in addressing critical issues in our community. I believe that Alex’s re-election will contribute to the Board’s success in effectively serving Andover.
